The oxymoron of virtual reality | UsuArdo | TEDxAssisi

“Medicine and clinical psychology started using virtual reality as a modern tool for therapy and diagnosis. As a result, many serious games have been created; now the challenge for new technologies is to simplify the interaction between man and machines and to have them become known by a broad audience of potential consumers, with different ages and cultural backgrounds. Back to Simplicity is the key-word of this technological revolution, in which the complexity of hardware and software is in contrast with the simpleness of use of these tools.” UsuArdo was born in Catania in 1988 and graduated in Computer Engineering from Catania University in 2015. After participating to some competitions of robotics, he got an internship at a company in the industry and discovered the huge potential of virtual reality and the benefits of Serious Games applied to medical environment. He currently works at Behaviour Labs, a start-up company that develops a wide range of software solutions (including robotics and virtual reality) focused on health and wellness. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
